Where the Nationals Money Went
CF3 is a volunteer-run, non-profit federation. Every dollar of the 2026 National Championships season comes from athletes and members — so here is the plain-language accounting of where it goes.

Season revenue comes almost entirely from registration. Amounts below are what actually reached the federation’s account after payment-processing fees.
| Source | Amount |
|---|---|
| Nationals registrations — 115 athletes across three host venues | $19,337 |
| Online qualifier — 45 athletes | $812 |
| Annual athlete memberships (season to date) | $2,112 |

Where it goes
Paid and committed costs for the 2026 season. IF3 Worlds costs are shown in their own section below. The single biggest line here is the three host venues — WEST, CENTRAL and EAST each receive a facility fee so Nationals can run in three regions instead of one.
| Category | Amount | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Host venues | $9,000 | Facility fees for the three host gyms |
| Athlete & event apparel | $2,999 | Event tees for athletes and volunteers, plus CREW shirts |
| Signage & branding | $2,468 | Banners, athlete name signs and venue panels |
| Board travel | $2,000 | Travel support so volunteer organizers can run all three venues |
| Athlete refunds | $1,261 | Refunds under the injury/withdrawal policy and duplicate-payment corrections |
| Volunteer support | $1,000 | Food, coffee and snacks for the volunteers running the venues — final amount being tallied from receipts |
| Medical & safety | $400 | On-site paramedic coverage at the EAST venue (invoice pending) |
| Equipment | $400 | Stopwatches, clipboards and judging supplies for the new third venue |
| Medals & awards | $402 | 67 podium medals across three venues at ~$6 each — 43 came from stock already owned, so only a small top-up was purchased this year |
| Admin & bank fees | $29 | Account fees and small adjustments |
| Total out — nationals (paid + committed) | $19,959 |

Held for IF3 & season
That’s about 90 cents of every dollar going straight back into running the National Championships. What remains isn’t paid to anyone — it funds Team Canada at the IF3 World Championships, covered in the next section. Nobody at CF3 draws a salary; the federation is run entirely by volunteers.
IF3 Worlds & Team Canada
Beyond Nationals, CF3 sends Team Canada to the IF3 World Championships. These costs are kept separate from the Nationals accounting above.
| IF3 Worlds cost | Amount | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Board & coach travel support | $1,500 | Supports the volunteers who run Team Canada’s logistics on-site while working the event — working travel, not a stipend. No athlete travel stipend exists this year. |
| Team Canada uniforms — 4 kits purchased by CF3 | Being confirmed | 40 of the 44 covered kits come from the BF HER sponsorship; CF3 purchases the other 4 — the price is still being confirmed with the supplier |
| Kit shipping & distribution | Up to $1,000 | Treasurer-approved cap; the actual cost is expected to come in lower. CF3 bears shipping under the sponsorship agreement. |
A Team Canada uniform is required to compete at Worlds. The 44 athleteswho met the published minimum work requirement in every test receive theirs fully covered — 40 through the sponsorship and 4 purchased by CF3. Every other athlete purchases the identical kit through the sponsor’s ordering link at a discount off retail. Kit orders close September 12 — see the news post for ordering details.
BF HER · Primary Sponsor of Team Canada
BF HER outfits Team Canada
Under the signed sponsorship agreement, BF HER supplies a two-piece Team Canada competition kit for up to 40 athletes — a contribution with a market value of $150 per athlete, $6,000 in total. That matches the full amount CF3 had originally budgeted for uniforms, and it is the reason 40 athletes head to Worlds with their kit covered. The agreement’s commercial terms are confidential; the value of the contribution is the number we can share.

Coverage beyond those 44 is not promised. It depends on kits freed up if any of the 44 don’t register for Worlds, and on whatever budget remains once final costs settle. Next in line, under a board decision responding to a formal member proposal, are athletes who qualified in a division of three or more competitors and missed the minimum in only one test. There is no timeline, and coverage will not reach all 62 invited athletes.
The sponsorship replaces the $6,000 CF3 would otherwise have spent on uniforms. What remains on the federation’s side — the 4 purchased kits and shipping — is shown as ranges above until final costs land; together with the travel support, it is paid from the funds held for IF3 Worlds and from season revenue that continues through the year (memberships run year-round).
This is what your membership built
Every dollar above came from athletes and members. If you want more of it — more events, more officials, more athletes supported to Nationals — the fastest way to help is to take part.
