Congratulations on achieving your Level 1 Technical Official (TO) certification! Now, it’s time to build on your foundational knowledge and take your officiating skills to the next level. The Level 2 TO training course prepares you for in-person judging by deepening your understanding of movement standards, event procedures, and real-time officiating techniques.

📌 Step 1: Attend a Live Online Pre-Event Training Course

Level 2 training is a 1-2 hour live online session led by experienced CFFF Technical Official Committee Members. These sessions are designed to:
✅ Expand your knowledge of movement standards and advanced judging techniques.
✅ Provide event-specific preparation—ensuring you understand the workouts and competition rules before stepping onto the floor.
✅ Offer direct Q&A opportunities with senior Technical Officials.

When are Level 2 Training Sessions?

🔹 Level 2 training courses are held before every CFFF-sanctioned event.
🔹 Sessions are mandatory for Technical Officials working at that competition.
🔹 Event organizers must provide workout details in advance so TOs can train specifically for that event’s requirements.

📌 Step 2: Judge at a live FF Events

To be eligible to apply for Level 3 evaluation, you must complete the Level 2 training course and then officiate at (a minimum of 1) in-person FF event - this event is NOT required to be FF sanctioned but must be an in person event (not online) in order to gain experience with the flow of events and more than an online competition can provide.

✅ Apply your movement standard knowledge in a live competition setting.
✅ Gain hands-on experience judging athletes in real-time.
✅ Learn from the experience to better prepare you for your in person evaluation

As a CFFF-sanctioned event organizer, you gain access to free Level 2 TO training for your judging team! This ensures that all event judges are aligned on movement standards and officiating procedures, leading to a smoother, more professional competition. 📌 Step 3: Apply for Level 3 Evaluation

Once you have completed a level 2 in person training and practiced your skills at 1 or more in person events, you're eligivle to apply for a level 3 evaluation at an upcoming CFFF sanctioned event. There will be a small fee associated with this application.

What's after level 3?

🏆 Once you're level 3 certified by Canadian Functional Fitness it's time to head to the big leagues and begin your training as an internationally recognized Technical Official with the IF3.

Technicaly Official training with the IF3 can only be done with a recommendation from CFFF, there is no other way to apply or begin the process.
